Memorial Park & Zoo

Since the weather is still warm but not too bad we have been going to the park for play group. There is a lovely and nicely shaded park across town that has a mini zoo for the kids and an open playground for easy watching for the moms. And while Henry could care less about animals and playgrounds, he does like to be outside and to swing.
The zoo has baby bears, alligators and opossums. Sad, that there would be opossums. Unfortunately, this zoo falls prey to pranks and hazing activities from the UGA greek community. A couple of years ago, someone shot a deer with a bow and arrow and this year someone stole a barn owl. See picture below.Alligator sun bathing.
The park also has a small pond you can walk around and feed ducks. We spotted this turtle cluster. At first I thought they were mating and then I thought it was a statue but it was neither just a bunch of turtles of all shapes and sizes taking the sun on a big rock. And here are Henry and I on a colorful Dawg that got cut off from the shot but features children from around the world.
