Random Henry Shots

I have taken note of a few requests I got for a blog post on etsy selling. So be ready with questions. My hope is to put together a series about selling on etsy and have the first ones up this week. For now a few pictures of Henry.
His hair is so curly, it is adorable. I don't want to cut it but he is definitely rocking a rat tail in the tub.Just going for a walk with my best friend.
Off to the grocery store to run errands for mommy! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the shopping cart.

INK: Interactive Neighborhood for Kids

While my parents were in town we kept it pretty low key. We did venture north to the INK Children's Museum and it was great. The whole place looks kind of boring from the outside as it is in a business park but once inside it was a whole community of fun. From a central street come a wide variety of businesses, a vet, a cafe, a grocery store all full of fun things to play with. Music rooms, beauty parlors, dentist offices and banks. I was overwhelmed by the detail. Henry's favorite things were the first room full of small playground equipment, the vet office complete with huge stuffed dogs and panda bears and the huge train tables. Most of it was lost on him since he is still little but we will be back in a year or so for more fun. I would recommend it to anyone and you can stay all day or leave for lunch and return.

Family Time

Most of the visit consisted of everyone saying how cute Henry was and watching him do things. It was nice having an extra set of helpers and players and readers. Henry got to go on lots of walks and even got some new toys and clothes. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
My parents spoiled us with a huge Costco shopping trip and doing lots of things around the house. My dad put up plastic netting around the deck so Henry can't slip through the rails or throw his toys onto the ground. Now we can go out every day and I can read while he finds leaves to play with and pounds on the railings with his trucks. Towards the end of the trip it got hot so we kept it indoors but stuck it out for a quick photo opp with everyone's favorite little guy.

Easy Easter Pictures

I don't do a lot of holiday decorating once Christmas is past. Maybe when Henry is older and he gets excited about holidays I will but for now I keep it simple. I do like the idea of sending out simple holiday cards to parents and grandparents though. So when my dad bought peeps, I had a sudden brilliant idea. What can be better than a picture? And what makes a picture cuter than a simple prop? Four peeps. One deck chair. A semi-eastery sweater vest. Done.

The real picture will be made into a cute card and posted later but I thought anyone could use this idea for their own holiday cards. See other simple picture cards I've made here.

Updated Wall Canvases

Last summer I made these wall canvases as knock-offs of expensive pictures printed on canvas. Since the originals are a little outdated, it was time for them to be updated. Steve helped pick the pictures and my mom did the gluing. Such a simple and easy idea for a large impact. Love it, especially the big one of Henry.

Quilt Pattern Giveaway

Since I am not busy enough (i know, right?) I thought I would open another etsy shop. I feel really good about continuing with the pillow covers but I have all these others ideas I want to play around with. I don't think shops do well once they split their focus so I thought I would open a miscellaneous shop or the miscellanista. Fun, huh? Anyway so far I have quilt patterns and children's block sets and art work lined up for my opening. Should be fun. Plus sometimes even I get tired of sewing and doing other things is a nice break.

To celebrate my new shop opening, I am doing a giveaway for one quilt pattern. The quilt pattern is a fun way for me to try out a new design of my own creation and then sell the pattern to whoever might want it. Plus, $1 from each sale will go toward supplies for my quilt donation project. The quilt is my Fault Line Quilt, an easy and modern design.

So if you want it, leave a comment and we will pick a winner the old fashioned way, by drawing your name from a hat. Giveway ends Friday, April 8th at 5:00 pm EST.
