Winterville is a small neighboring town to Athens with great parks and a quaint community center. We go there often for pumpkin picking, playing on the playground and to meet up with friends. This past weekend was their annual festival, Marigold Days. We met up with some friends for the perfect small town parade complete with lots of good candy throwing and princesses. Henry got handfuls of tootsie rolls, stickers and a frisbee.
They also had a small craft show area and these random turtles from Africa. To his delight, the turtle kept looking at Henry.
We also had to get a funnel cake to share. It was Henry's first and he loved it. He kept asking for parts with "the white stuff" on it. After pigging out, we rode a small train around town, watched dog tricks and practiced with his new frisbee. Overall it was a great morning together as a family. And to top it all off, Henry was so well behaved the entire time. It was kind of a miracle. He even asked to hold our hands instead of running away.
