January 2015

So I going to attempt to catch up on the whole year in a matter of days. One post per month, only highlights and then we'll get on with life. I was overwhelmed looking back at the year and then I realized I had taken close to 1800 pictures and I knew I just had to bite the proverbial bullet and get going. So with that, we have January!

I can't get enough of Viv's dark eyes. They are dark but still bright. She really is full of life.
Henry goes through phases of interests. He loves Super Mario and my dad sent him this drawing to color in.
Creepy popsicle lips. He kind of looks like the joker.
Ta-Da! She starting standing with help this month. Just picture this pose but then dancing a little bit with excitement.
Henry earned a Sight Word Master award at school. He continues to be interested in reading and learning new words.
With his beloved Mrs. Cooper!
Some days are rough with teething. Lots of cuddles help.
Twins for church!
"My daddy dressed me."
So begins the era of escaping during diaper changes...
Steve got Henry interested in comic books and I am a huge fan too. Here they are reading the new Star Wars book. Henry will also look at his books for hours, its a great way to "read" without having to know all the words.
Stormtroopers at dinner.
Playing at the park with our favorite ladies. Maya and Lilly are back from Texas and Henry was so happy about it.
Vivi is now old enough for baby music time at the library,
Music instruments sound and taste so good. Yum!

These eggs are one of her favorite toys, they light up, they sing, they pretty much makes us all happy. "Let's make a silly scramble!"
We got worn out in January. Well I am going to mention here the crazy routine we did each night at bedtime. Henry would go to sleep in his bed at 7:00-7:15, he would look at comic books for a bit and then fall asleep. Meanwhile, we would put Viv to bed in her pack n play in our room. She loves falling asleep in the quiet and dark, Henry needs the door open and some light. Once it was time for us to go to bed, we would pick up Viv and transfer her to her crib in their room. We did this each night! I am so happy we're done with this for now but it truly worked great--unless the transfer went poorly.

Christmas is Snohomish!

For Christmas we headed to Washington to be with my family. Overall we had a great travel experience unlike the year before when it was mayhem. Considering all the luggage, kids and flying across the country, it went well!
Steve and Henry on the train in the ATL airport. To get from Athens, GA to Snohomish, WA we had to take: a car, a bus, a train, a plane, and a van.
Selfies to entertain ourselves.
It was cold in the terminal and Viv rocked my faux fur vest.
My parents don't have a tun so Viv bathed in this bin. She loved it!

Christmas Eve we made name tags so Santa would know who's stocking was whose. Henry left out cookies and milk too. Christmas Eve Vivi also rolled over and crawled away during a diaper change!

On Christmas we all gathered and shared talents. Everyone had to participate. Steve recited a poem in Spanish, Henry sang, I drew mazes, my brother's did funny voices, playing guitars and computer animation. My mom read a children's story and Vanessa made a delicious tray of goodies. My dad taught us all how to draw Santa. It was a fun new tradition.
Christmas dinner!

We also decorated gingerbread houses on Christmas Eve. It actually ended up being so fun! It wasn't a competition but I think Nate and Aaron won.

We had so much fun relaxing and being with family. Here we all are in front of my parent's house.

Chocolate cream pie goatee.
And with that we were headed back to Georgia with a cheery goodbye from an orca whale.

December Wrap Up

All the stuff that is random and small but I still want documented:

Zippy came back and spent December with us! This year he kept it really simple and I appreciated it since we had a busy month. :)
Baby by the christmas tree, too cute!
Cuties all dressed up and ready for church Christmas style.
Zippy thought we should make cookies.
 Henry agreed.
I did a craft show and it was freezing cold.
I stayed warm by eating this amazing hamburger.
My Aunt Rita sent Henry a 12 days of christmas gift box. He loved opening a new present each day. It was so fun and very much loved.
Henry at our ward christmas party.
I finished Vivian's stocking. I love that I thought ahead and had enough of the original quilt ready to go for a second child.
Zippy got caught up in an epic Star Wars battle. Luckily the Jedi's were there to save him.

 Christmas tree pizza!
We went to this fun house in Watkinsville that has thousands of lights and a display filled yard. Its an annual favorite.

Viv was there too! All bundled up and in sensory overload.

Next up our trip to Washington for Christmas!

Santa

We went and saw Santa! The church where Henry had his preschool hosts an incredible Santa breakfast every year and its free. Not only did they have a wonderful Santa and setup but they had craft tables with lots of fun projects to do while you waited. Henry had a great time but was dubious of our bearded friend. Vivi was enthralled and couldn't stop staring at him and then got tangled in his beard.
Next time we'll be more prepared and wear cute Christmas clothes...
